I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all parents and carers at Elvington who so generously supported the recent hike in aid of OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity and Elvington’s PTA.

The vast majority of donations were received directly from our school community. I am delighted to inform you that the total amount raised currently stands at £1,557.00, with a further £317.50 in Gift Aid. The JustGiving page will close on Thursday 30th April.Mr Buttery

PTA Christmas Fair

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are busy planning the upcoming PTA Christmas Fair next Friday 5:00-7:00pm. We are hoping this will be a lovely evening for all our families and raise lots of money for our amazing school.

We still need lots of helpers for the evening to go ahead to support the running of stalls. Please could you email the school office if you would be willing to support a stall on the evening even if it is just for 30 minutes.

Thank you,Elvington PTA

Elvington’s PTA Team are registered with easyfundraising, which means you can raise FREE donations for the PTA every time you shop online. Over 4,000 shops and sites from Amazon to holidays and car insurance, will donate to the PTA when you use easyfundraising, at no extra cost to yourself!

The aforementioned donations make a significant difference as the PTA missed out on numerous events due to Covid-19. It’s completely FREE and only takes a moment. You can find the PTA easyfundraising page at:

The first PTA meeting of the new academic year will take place in school on Monday 6th October, at 3:15pm. It would be wonderful to see both existing and new members.

PTA Summer Disco

The PTA Summer Disco will be taking place this Friday from 5pm to 7:30pm. A huge amount of effort goes into organising and running events like this, so it would be wonderful to see as many of you there as possible!

The PTA would be very grateful for any additional help during either of the following time slots:

  • 5–6pm
  • 6–7:30pm

If you’re able to assist, please let Mrs. Greening or Kara Palmer know – thank you for your support.

We will be holding a Non-uniform day on Friday 2nd May. Where possible, we are asking that children bring in a prize which will be used in a raffle at the Comedy Day/Night. All proceeds from this will go to the PTA. The PTA supports the school by raising money to enhance, enrich and improve learning experiences/opportunities for each and every child who attends Elvington School. Your support of the PTA is greatly appreciated.

Tickets for the Comedy shows are selling fast, all profits to the PTA. Many thanks to Mr Owen for arranging this fantastic family event.

Mrs Leach’s Marathon!

Following the unfortunate need to defer my place in the London Marathon last year due to a late injury, I am delighted to share that I am on track to participate this year, raising funds for the school.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who generously donated last year —your support is truly appreciated. Currently, the total amount raised, both online and offline, stands at £369.72 towards my £500 target.

To help reach this goal, I will be hosting a cake stall and lucky dip after school on Wednesday 23rd April. I hope you will enjoy supporting this event.

All money raised, minus platform fees, will go directly towards funding events and projects at the school.

I will be receiving my bib number shortly, which will allow children to track my progress on the London Marathon app. I would love to receive a virtual cheer along the way—further details and links will follow.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter holiday!Mrs Leach
