We are proud of the valuable contribution that extra-curricular clubs make to children’s learning and personal development.  The range of clubs offered varies each term and has recently included activities such as football, rugby, netball, homework club and many others.

Teaching staff generously volunteer their time to run many of these clubs.  However, as part of our commitment to extending both the quality and variety of opportunities available to pupils, we also engage professional organisations to deliver some sessions.  These externally run clubs may incur a charge.

Every effort is made to accommodate as many pupils as possible.  Families receive an email each half term outlining the clubs on offer, together with information on how to book a place.

Instrument Lessons

In 2022-23 we joined a pilot scheme led by York Music Hub to reintroduce 1-1 or small group musical instrument lessons at Elvington.

We are delighted to announce that this collaboration has continued with the delivery of piano and vocal tuition to pupils in the school. A limited number of YMH Bursaries (reduced fees) is available by application only, which the school submits to the Hub. If the application is approved, the parent/carer will be notified. Children from the following categories are eligible: (1) Free School Meals (2) Pupil Premium (3) Looked After Children.

Guitar lessons are provided by Link Learning. If your child is interested in learning how to play guitar, please click here for further information.

Places for Guitar, Piano and Singing Lessons will be given on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Last year, the children thoroughly enjoyed engaging with these extra curricular music lessons within school time with Guitar lessons take place on a Monday afternoon and Piano and Singing lessons on a Friday afternoon.
