Update – 24/04/2020

24th April 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been wonderful to speak to the vast majority of our families over the course of this week.  As I stated in each of the aforementioned conversations, the most important factor at this time, is doing everything we can to maintain our children’s physical health and mental wellbeing.

I have really enjoyed hearing about children learning sign language; spending time in the garden; playing games with their siblings and even practicing the ukulele!  Please continue to access these types of activities as well as the home learning resources we are providing.

It is important to remember that physical health and mental wellbeing are interlinked, and it is imperative that children understand that good physical health contributes to good mental wellbeing, and vice versa.  The idea we can recreate a normal school day remotely is unreasonable.  However, we can make the most of this situation.  Please keep sharing your home learning experiences; you’ve all done amazingly well this week!

To help support with spellings during this time, the staff have created spelling grids.  These can be found on our website: www.elvingtonprimary.org.uk/general/spelling-practice.
