Dear Parents and Carers,

Key Stage 2 (KS2) Test Results – National Delay

I am writing to inform you of a national delay to the release of this year’s Key Stage 2 (KS2) test results, which affects all primary schools in England.

Schools were originally due to receive pupils’ results on 7^th July 2026. However, Pearson Education Limited, the organisation responsible for administering, marking and returning KS2 test results, has informed the Department for Education of a delay affecting the national system used to make results available to schools.  As a result, schools will now receive the results on 16^th July 2026.

We appreciate that this news may be disappointing and understand that many families will have been looking forward to receiving their child’s results.  Please be assured that this delay will not detract from celebrating everything our Year 6 pupils have achieved throughout their time at Elvington Church of England Primary School.  We remain incredibly proud of all they have accomplished.

Importantly, we have been informed by the Department for Education that this delay is not related to the quality of the tests or the accuracy of pupils’ results.  All test papers have been marked in accordance with the usual national procedures; the issue relates solely to the timing of the release of results to schools.

The delay will not affect your child’s transition to secondary school, and no action is required from parents or pupils.  We will share your child’s results with you as soon as possible after we receive them on Thursday 16^th July 2026.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  I am sure you will appreciate that this delay is entirely beyond the school’s control.
